About

Hello and welcome to Guitarkind (GK). I started GK so I could write about guitars, which is something I love to talk about. I have two goals for Guitarkind:

  1. Offer thoughtful information, reviews, and commentary on guitars, gear, and music. To me, this means not just skimming the surface, but instead exploring topics with curiosity and interest.
  2. Sift and filter the web’s endless supply of guitar information. In doing so I can serve you, the reader, by saving you time while offering high quality advice, a player’s perspective, and a dash of entertainment. I have a lot of opinions, and I’m not afraid to share them. This includes calling BS on the industry where it is warranted.

I’m not, and won’t be, a professional guitar player. Like many of you, I’m a long time amateur player, albeit one that has absorbed a fair amount of knowledge along the way; Guitarkind gives me the opportunity to share it with you. I have found that a lot of guitar media is geared towards people that are making—or trying to make—a full-time living in music. This is awesome, but the reality is that most of us play for ourselves, and our family and friends, if we’re lucky. And I think we’re lucky, because playing music is a whole lot of fun.

I may include affiliate links on the site, but it will always be for products and companies that I believe in. I may earn a small commission but there is no additional cost to you. Your thoughts, questions, and feedback are welcome.

Happy Playing!
